Spotted While Scrolling: Social Impact Highlights in May 2022

Spotted While Scrolling

We’re back with another Spotted while Scrolling where we recap some of the amazing social impact stories we spotted recently while scrolling through LinkedIn! We’re proud of you, RW partners and clients, for making a real impact, taking care of your employees, and reaching new levels of success. We hope to see more of you tell your stories so we can help spread the word!

PayPal

While our team has been conducting impact interviews with PayPal’s amazing non-profit partners around the world, the company overall is setting an impressive example for crisis response, raising over $250 million for organizations supporting Ukraine relief efforts! They’re offering several ways to support the cause including sending money directly to recipients, supporting international charities focused on humanitarian aid and refugee support, donating when you ride with Uber or check out with PayPal, and more. Hats off to PayPal for finding new ways to activate their community and for taking action to support those who need it most. We’ll look for the donation button next time we hop in an Uber.

Stryker

For the twelfth consecutive year, Stryker was named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For – a list we hope to see ourselves on in the near future! In any year this is impressive, but it is especially so during a pandemic when employees need a little extra support from their employers. Stryker continued their inspirational work with Operation Smile throughout the pandemic, even when employees couldn’t be together in person. We can say firsthand that their team lives into Stryker’s values of integrity, accountability, and performance, upholding a culture that is award-worthy to say the least.

Abbott

We are extremely proud to have a hand in Abbott’s Future Well Kids #abbottproud. Seeing updates like this one from Abbott’s volunteers reconnects us to our “Why” and makes us so grateful to work behind the scenes with Abbott’s inspiring Global Responsibility team. If you’re working on or just starting up a Signature Program, you’ll want to take notes on this one!

Tyson

We’ve all seen the fuel prices rising. It’s making that commute to work a little more life-sucking, right? Well, let’s just say if we weren’t a fully remote company, we’d be applying for a job at Tyson right now. (Kidding – although we really do love the CSR team there!) But listen to this… Tyson is taking a really cool step to making that commute to work less burdensome for their employees. Through their Commute with Enterprise ride-share program, Tyson offers 26 of their facilities a low-cost, reliable way to commute to work. Some of their plants are even taking steps to assist team members with purchasing reliable transportation! A great example of one way to take care of your employees.

Angela Parker

Co-Founder, CEO

Griffith Foods

Have you been keeping up with Griffith Foods? They were just named a 2022 US Best Managed Company by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal! This award is no surprise with the team we’ve worked with at Griffith and a leader like TC Chatterjee as their CEO. TC has made a reputation for having a high focus on people and recently chatted about his 20-year journey at Griffith Foods on the betterHUMAN podcast – one of our faves! On the podcast, Greg Witz says “he was one of the early adopters of creating purpose-driven strategies – and I watched TC year after year not just present and talk about the purpose-driven strategy but make decisions around the business and people and his own actions.” We love a leader who can walk the talk!

Comcast

As you’ve probably heard us say before, the Community Impact team at Comcast is an absolute dream to work with. They recently supported the documentary “Unwavering: The Power of Black Innovation,” part of Echoing Green’s Invest in Black Leaders storytelling campaign. “The film celebrates the long legacy of Black innovation through portraits of nine Black leaders supported by Echoing Green’s Black Male Achievement Fellowship (2012-2020), the world’s first fellowship for social entrepreneurs creating systemic change for Black men and boys in the U.S.” Learn more about the film here!

Also, they’re hiring! Follow Gwyneth Gaul for updates.

NortonLifeLock

Big kudos to our partners at NortonLifeLock for another year of impressive growth. In 2021, they reimagined their Corporate Responsibility program to fit with their new business priorities – a shift we love to see. Through NortonLifeLock Cares they’re working “to build a safe, inclusive and sustainable future for people, their information and the digital world”. Check out some of the actions they took in 2021 to make a real impact. We’re excited to be collaborating with this ambitious team to see what we can do in 2022!
